These safety tips will help protect the forest and yourself
Protect the Forest:
  • Be aware that the invasive species on the edges can travel on our shoes and clothes and into the vulnerable forest. Check your clothes and shoes for hitchhikers before heading in.
  • Please be careful to pack out all food. Human food isn’t healthy for the wildlife.
  • Please do not walk on logs, they are often slippery.  They can be soft in the middle and are home to many species.
  • Please be aware of where you are walking, we have lots of new plants in the forest.
  • Please stay on the trail as much as possible to prevent erosion and impact.

Protect Yourself:
  • Stinging nettle grows well in the forest; please be cautious and aware.
  • Wear proper clothes for the weather, protect arms and legs from bugs and nettles.
  • Wear closed toe shoes, waterproof boots are highly recommended.
  • Bring a full bottle of water and stay hydrated.
