Hands-on volunteer opportunities for future leaders in stewardship,
environmental education and conservation.

Interpretation/ Crew Lead/ Environmental Education Internships and Training Programs:
  • Crew Lead Training: We offer interpretation and crew lead training through our CBLR program. Community Based Learning and Research students from the University of Washington Bothell learn how to be community leaders and educators in the field of restoration ecology.
  • Environmental Education Internships: Interns work with the Education Manager to design a detailed project outline and schedule for each quarter, as well as a plan for one or more teaching opportunities. In addition, interns assist in a variety of duties including curriculum design, program marketing, grant tracking, outreach, and preparation (reading and logistics) for committee meetings.

Higher Education Programs: We take pride in our long term relationships with the University of Washington and Cascadia College.  These partnerships support multiple programs throughout our organization. We look forward to building new relationships as we expand our programming.
  • UW-REN - Our community partnership with the University of Washington's Restoration Ecology Network has been an amazing opportunity to exchange ideas while we work to restore a healthy and balanced ecosystem in our lowland forests. This program is the cornerstone of our stewardship program.
  • CBLR - University of Washington's Community Based Learning and Research students join us quarterly to enhance their classroom experiences. From Restoration Ecology to Marketing and Outreach, students experience hands on learning and problem solving in the field.
  • Research - Students support our research program by participating and contributing to various research projects, including GIS and ecological monitoring.
  • Service Learning - Professors bring classes to observe and participate in lowland forest restoration activities.
