RESEARCH PROGRAM

The FNCF Research Committee oversees and performs research necessary to promote ongoing optimum forest health and ecological function,​ to inform the work of the Stewardship Program, and to provide real world research opportunities for students and community members.

RESEARCH COMMITTEE PROGRAMS, PROJECTS & STRATEGIC GOALS

Monitoring: Restoration Sites
Assess restoration impact to inform best practices and adaptive management. Monitoring data collected at each restoration site can be found at each restoration site's stewardship page.
 
Create Comprehensive Forest GIS Map
Consolidate geographic information from multiple sources and collect remaining data to create a comprehensive, large scale GIS map of the forest to inform the master plan and future work.
 
Monitoring: Forest Health
Develop a forest wide monitoring plan to identify assets and problem areas in support of overall forest health over time.
