Forest Restoration Events Recap & Bothell Public Works Department Thanks

July was a busy month for North Creek Forest! We had 2 visits each from the Woodinville Montessori School and YMCA Quest summer camps' youths, as well as hosting two of our regular forest restoration events.

Here are our accomplishments for July:

• Combined, volunteers spread about 19 cubic yards of mulch across the lower restoration sites that will suppress future invasive weed growth and help retain water for native plants.
• Removed 12 cubic yards of invasive weeds, including morning glory/field bindweed and Himalayan blackberry, from Site 2's native plants and drainage ditch.
• Completed about 150 hours of work in 14 hours.
• Introduced North Creek Forest to almost 100 new people!
